Twin sisters Demetra and Eirini Skalidaki both graduated with a BSc in Biomolecular and Genetic Science before exploiting their creative spirit and studying at Central Saint Martins. The designers worked closely with design teams of Gucci, Chanel and Mary Katrantzou and experimented with different types of heavy embroidery before setting up their own label.

The comfort of being authentic and individual - that’s what LAVIATE designers want women of today to find in their assortment of sensible knits, coats, and of course dresses fashioned in interesting fabrics, hand-drawn digital prints, unordinary silhouettes, and artful patterns all created in a pret-a-couture philosophy.

The attitude features in everything Eirini and Dimitra create whilst experimenting with female identity and flirting with new technologies.

An amalgamation of historical references and an interjection of the uncanny, LAVIATE is a women led brand with erratic pieces that are steeped into a controlled abstraction of the present but always softened with a romantic flourish.

Soon after the launch of LAVIATE, Eirini and Dimitra found favour with Fashionscout Panel and won the ONES TO WATCH award which brought them to a presentation of their Spring Summer 2019 collection as part of the official LFW schedule as well as their Autumn Winter 2019 collection was selected to be part of the HAUTES GRECIANS Catwalk Show among other established designers increasing media and sales attention since. In addition, Autumn Winter 2020, 2021 & 2022 collections as well as Spring Summer 2022 were presented through Vogue Talents as part of a designers' selection by Vogue Talents team. In addition a capsule collection of Haute Couture dresses was presented during Paris Fashion Week for Spring Summer 2024 season at La Gallerie Bourbon as a debut for the brand specializing in craftsmanship.
