SPRING SUMMER 2022
“La Parisienne”
The Minoan Lady as described by the French archaeologist Edmund Pottier in order to summarize the astonishment of fresco at Knossos resembling to a contemporary woman from Paris, was the inspiration for creating Spring Summer 2022 collection. A naïve archaism and spicy modernism portrayed through the women’s disheveled hair, her tunic with its blue, red, and black stripes were details stimulated our imagination and interpretation for SS22 season.
The revealing attire which represents a form of power and sexual liberation remarkably similar to modern day female counterparts with bold looks and exaggerated dark eyes were elements aroused our senses for elegant and tailored clothing for a multi complex culture.
Attention to pleats, ribbons, trimmings, as well as multi-layered and bell-shaped skirts with a series of horizontal ruffles was paid in order to interpret the colorful and elaborated skirts of the Minoan period. A contemporary aspect of the Minoan fitted cardigans with short sleeves open at the front are reflected in the collection in loose but tailored fitted upper bodies with front openings and exaggerated either short or long sleeves with vertical cuts.
Single or double-layer skirts, tied at the waist with a strap, decorated with bright colors and patterns with hand drawn ancient Greek motives crafted in lightweight cottons, ribbons and bows at the ends, all presented through this spring summer collection. Emphasizing the appearance of SS22 LAVIATE woman the looks are styled with heavy jewelry, made of metal, particularly important for the Middle Minoan Era, which were related to the care and beautification of the body.
